American cybersecurity giant Zscaler is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Israeli startup Avalor for an estimated $250-350 million. If the negotiations are successful, this would mark Zscaler’s third acquisition in Israel. Zscaler’s previous acquisitions include Canonic, acquired for approximately $50 million in February of the preceding year, and Trustdome, acquired for $40 million in April 2021.

Zscaler has a market capitalization of approximately $34 billion and a global workforce of around 6,000 employees. Avalor, which emerged from stealth mode in April 2023 after securing $30 million in a Series A funding round with key investments from Salesforce Ventures and TCV, offers a data fabric designed to seamlessly integrate diverse data pipelines through automated services and APIs. The startup’s open data platform has the capability to integrate disparate data from legacy systems, databases, applications, or any data source, providing a comprehensive overview of business performance.

Founded by Kfir Tishbi and Raanan Raz, both with executive experience at Datatroma and CitiBank, Avalor brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Avalor’s security platform is seen as a “source of truth” for crucial data points, including assets, controls, identities, vulnerabilities, and security bugs. By automatically categorizing and grouping multiple findings, alerts, and vulnerabilities, Avalor’s platform aligns with the unique organizational structure of its customers.

As Zscaler continues to expand its portfolio and global presence through strategic acquisitions, the potential acquisition of Avalor signifies the company’s dedication to staying at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.

In addition to this, Zscaler was recently in the news when it announced the Zscaler Zero Trust SASE, an industry-first, single-vendor SASE solution built on Zscaler Zero Trust AI. This will help organizations reduce cost and complexity while implementing Zero Trust security across users, devices, and workloads.

Furthermore, Zscaler announced the general availability of its Zero Trust SD-WAN solution and a portfolio of plug-and-play appliances. Operating on a Zero Trust architecture, where business policies determine user and device access, Zscaler’s new solutions aim to address the risks and complexities introduced by legacy network and firewall architectures.

With these advancements, Zscaler continues to solidify its position as a leader in the cybersecurity landscape safeguarding digital assets.
