Green Cloud Technologies, a Cloud solutions provider for small and medium-sized businesses, was very recently in the news with their expansion in Tampa, Florida. Since the company has quite a niche of its own, we wanted to get in touch with them, and luckily bagged an opportunity to interview Mr Shay Houser, CEO, Green Cloud Technologies. Read below as Mr. Shay talks about his first hand experience of witnessing the effects of natural disasters on Business community, reasons behind the company’s Florida expansion, its unique approach towards Distaster recovery solutions, focus on SMBs and plans to launch a new datacenter in 2013!
Q1 : What is your name and position with Green Cloud Technologies?
A : Shay Houser, CEO.
Q2 : Tell our readers in brief about Green Cloud Technologies?
A: Green Cloud Technologies wants to change the way people think about IT and, particularly, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. We specialize in helping small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) utilize the cloud to streamline their business continuity plan and manage technology costs while improving productivity and performance. We offer Virtual Server, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity solutions with products that are efficient, affordable and designed with the SMB in mind.
Q3 : What changes do you expect after/ in the light of the recent Florida expansion? What were the reasons behind it?
A: Florida was a natural choice for us. Our products provide business continuity solutions in the event of a natural disaster or man-made disaster and that’s critical for those with coastal markets, like Florida. We believe our products and solutions will change the way Florida businesses recover from a disaster by providing a comprehensive business continuity plan to get them back to work quickly, since that’s what it’s all about. I lived outside Mobile, AL for 8 years so I saw first-hand how Ivan and Katrina impacted local businesses and I knew the Business Continuity wasn’t just something you talk about – it was something you had to invest in.
Q4 : How are Green Cloud Tech solutions different from other cloud providers?
A: We focus on providing the very best Disaster Recovery solutions for businesses. It’s what we thrive on and it’s at the core of our product offerings. While everyone else talks about “Cloud” we are providing the best Business Continuity proven Disaster Recovery services available. Period. We put our services up against anyone.
Our Disaster Recovery service and expertise is like none other we have seen in the marketplace. It is not the “plug and pray” backup solution or the cookie cutter data recovery approach with generic web interfaces and automated scripts that other companies are offering. Our services make “tape” or “online backup” obsolete…..as they should be.
We guarantee 100% uptime. Our geographically diverse datacenter locations ensure data and applications will be available to our customers 100% of the time. And we’re SMB focused. We bring enterprise-class solutions to the small business owner.
Q5 : How do you see the future of Green Cloud Technology?
A: Green Cloud is currently investing heavily in market expansion and we are weighing the location of our third data center which will be deployed in later 2013. Or product expertise will continue to evolve but what will never change is our total focus on our customer’s livelihood and the security and performance of their data in light of a disaster.
Q6 : What new advancements do you see forward to in the arena of cloud computing in this year?
A: We expect a significant increase in Merger & Acquisition activity in virtually every segment of the Cloud space and we intend to participate in that consolidation as an acquirer.
