19th May 2023, dawned as a brighter day for the data center and cloud sector in India when Chennai hosted the 2nd Edition of Cloud & Datacenter Convention 2023 at Hilton Chennai, where 350+ senior-level data center and C-level digital infrastructure professionals, information technology experts, cloud technology & business leaders, key buyers, decision-makers, and project heads gathered on one platform.
The event was inaugurated by Thiru. Arunraj, I.A.S. Executive Director, Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (ELCOT) followed by his address where he discussed the Tamil Nadu government’s favorable policies for data center and cloud sector with subsidies on infrastructure facilities.
He also announced the Tamil Nadu government’s strategy for the digital transformation of two-tier cities like Coimbatore Trichy and Hosur., especially Hosur which is being planned to be TNTec city in the coming times.
This was followed by a power panel discussion moderated by James Murphy, MD, DC Byte, and attended by industry stalwarts like VinodJavur COO, DigitalE dgeDC, Surjeet Chatterjee, MD, Capitalland India and Prata Mane, Country head, Colt DC.
They welcomed the Tamilnadu government’s forthcoming approach as Surjeet Chatterjee emphasized that government mandates play a big role in shaping digital transformation strategies. He also emphasized that hybrid is the way to the future. As the day progressed many more power panel discussions took place on subjects like edge computing hyper scaling, and cloud adoption.
The convention presented a great opportunity for business for vendors and end users. As Carlo Benazzi, MD, HOPPECKE put forward, this platform gave a great opportunity to connect to end users. Along with business this convention also played a major role in exchanging ideas, catching up with friends from the industry, and taking home a sense of accomplishment.
