ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines has announced that its STT Fairview 1 data center, the initial phase of a major new facility, is on schedule to begin operations by the second quarter of 2025. Once fully operational, the STT Fairview campus is set to become the largest data center in the Philippines, with an expected IT capacity of 124 megawatts, a milestone that will significantly enhance the country’s digital infrastructure and support the rapid expansion of data services.

The new campus is specifically designed to support the Philippines’ digital transformation and will meet the rising demands of artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. It will operate as a carrier-neutral facility, offering flexible connectivity options and advanced energy-efficient systems to minimize environmental impact and enable sustainable, high-performance operations.

STT GDC Philippines has consistently maintained high capacity utilization levels, highlighting strong customer demand and market confidence in its services. This expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to its existing clients and aims to attract new business as the Philippines’ data center industry grows.

The demand for AI infrastructure is on a steep rise in the Philippines. The Department of Trade and Industry projects that AI could contribute around 12% to the country’s GDP, or an estimated $92 billion, by 2030. Further insights from Statista anticipate that the Philippine AI market will expand at an annual growth rate of 28.57%, climbing to $3.5 billion by 2030 from the current $772 million.

As a joint venture among Globe, Ayala Corporation, and Singapore-based ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, which operates 95 facilities worldwide, STT GDC Philippines is leveraging its global reach and local expertise to appeal to major cloud service providers and enhance its data infrastructure offerings. The campus is engineered to meet the evolving needs of hyperscalers while nurturing local technical expertise, positioning it as a key player in the region’s digital landscape.
