SoftLayer Launches Mobile Apps for Windows Phone 7 and iPadSoftLayer® Technologies, the data center service provider, recently announced the release of its Mobile app for Windows Phone 7 and Mobile HD app for iPad. The new apps, specifically designed for the Windows Phone 7 environment and iPad’s screen size, bring robust server and account management tools right to SoftLayer customers’ fingertips, anywhere they go.

The new apps feature fast menu navigation and enhanced design, delivering mobile control over many infrastructure management functions also found in SoftLayer’s industry-leading Customer Portal including:

  • Tickets—Quickly create a new ticket for a support request or view existing support tickets and check their statuses.
  • Servers—View performance details and control basic functions for your SoftLayer Dedicated Servers and CloudLayer Computing Instances. Easily turn a server off or on, ping the server to test its network availability, or reboot.
  • Bandwidth—Monitor the bandwidth usage of your SoftLayer Dedicated Serversand CloudLayerComputing Instance.
  • Accounting—Get up-to-date account information and view and download invoices.

SoftLayer Mobile for Windows Phone 7 is available for free download through Marketplace—Microsoft’s virtual store—andSoftLayer Mobile HD for iPad is available for free download through the iTunes® Store.

Updates and enhancements have also been made to iOS versions of the app and are available for free download through the iTunes Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch. SoftLayer applications for other mobile devices, including Android smartphones, are also available for free download.
