The leading datacenter solutions provider QTS Realty Trust has announced a number of new features for QTS Service Delivery Platform (SDP). The new features will provide customers improved transparency, visibility, access and control for IT environments.

The QTS SDP platform helps customers to aggregate, analyze, and automate data across IT environments. It was launched last year to enable interaction between customers and data center deployments. With the mobile-first experience that supports iOS and Android apps, the SDP enables a rich user experience.

In a recent interview with Daily Host News, Chris Ortbals (EVP of Product Management and Marketing, QTS) said that the SDP is an architectural approach that facilitates service delivery across QTS’ entire hybrid colocation and hyperscale solutions portfolio.

The new features in QTS Service Delivery Platform include Power Analytics, Asset Manager, and online ordering of both Cross Connects and Remote Hands and Eyes.

“QTS’ Service Delivery Platform allows customers to adapt to changes in real-time to increase IT infrastructure utilization, performance, security and quality of services,” said Chris Ortbals. “These latest enhancements deliver unprecedented visibility, access and dynamic control as part of their QTS software-defined data center experience.”

Power Analytics is a data analytics capability for colocation customers. It will provide real-time power metrics to enable transparency into power consumption. This will help customers to optimize operational efficiency and improve forecasting.

The customers who have their assets collocated at QTS, can now catalog, track and manage lifecycles of the equipment using the new Asset Manager. This capability will help customers to optimize the utilization of their assets residing in datacenter.

Another new capability coming to QTS SDP is the online ordering of physical cross connects. It will remove the traditional paperwork processing and manual steps which customers had to follow to order colocation services. QTS said that this new feature will allow customers to order from anywhere, at any time from any device.

Furthermore, to accelerate the ordering process, QTS had enabled online ordering or remote hands and eyes monthly subscriptions. This will allow customers to monitor the details of their subscriptions on an hour-basis.
