Plesk and Acronis partner to provide easy server-backup and recovery solution

1 Mins read

Plesk, the leading WebOps platform provider, recently announced its partnership with Acronis, a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection and storage.

Plesk will now integrate Acronis Backup Cloud into its website management platform and innovative control panel, enabling hosting and cloud service providers to easily back up Plesk servers. It will also help IT administrators and web professionals to protect entire servers and all the websites they contain.

The Acronis Backup Cloud – a hybrid cloud backup-as-a-service solution, offers enterprise-grade protection and allows users to store data in datacenter of service provider or in the Acronis cloud. A part of Acronis Data Cloud, it also provides disaster recovery, file sync, storage and shared services.

“Partnering with Acronis we bring the world’s best cloud backup solution to millions of Plesk users. Backup and Restore is no longer a nice-to-have for websites, but a must-have,” said Nils Hueneke, CEO at Plesk.

The companies together will allow hosting customers to perform self-service recovery of a website, mailboxes, and databases using Acronis from Plesk UI.

Additionally, the Acronis Plesk partnership will help CSPs and web hosting providers to target new businesses within and outside the customer base, resulting in increased average revenue per user (ARPU).

“Web professionals understand the importance of protecting their websites but are often intimidated by the complexity of traditional solutions. Acronis Backup Cloud addresses that head on with a one-click solution. Once enabled, hosting customers can perform granular self-service recovery of a website or individual files, mailboxes, and databases without contacting support,” said John Zanni, President of Acronis.

Plesk has been helping sysadmins and SMBs to add value across multiple cloud services for more than decade now. At Word Cloud Summit 2017, Jan Loeffler (CTO at Plesk) shared his views on how service providers can offer a ready to code and secure platform to their end customers with Plesk Onyx.

The service providers can protect Plesk servers just by installing the Acronis Backup Cloud agent on their physical servers and VMs, and then adding the Acronis Backup Cloud extension to Plesk UI.
