2 Mins read

Phoenix, AZ, February 19, 2013 Phoenix NAP®, a full service data center and primary network access point (NAP) offering cloud services, dedicated server hosting, colocation, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technology solutions, announced that its leading cloud solution has recently launched two new features, virtual machine Import/Export and Network Storage. The news comes a few days after PhoenixNap  expanded  secured servers offering to East Coast Data Center.

Creating and maintaining a strong relationship with our end users is extremely important to us and after gaining their feedback, we pinpointed both Import/Export and Network Storage as two significant features that would enhance our cloud solution. – William Bell, Director of cloud services,Phoenix NAP.

“We are extremely thrilled to offer our Phoenix NAP Cloud customers with both Import/Export and Network Storage options,” said William Bell, director of cloud services for Phoenix NAP. “Each feature provides additional flexibility that enables users to manage their applications within virtual environments.”

Initially set to support image types from VMware, the market leader, with other types to follow based on demand, Phoenix NAP Cloud’s free Import/Export solution lets users quickly and easily migrate their business applications and operating system (OS) templates to and from the cloud to accommodate various business objectives. Additionally, customers can perform imports onto the node of their choice through the Phoenix NAP Cloud portal or API. The unique Export solution even lets users migrate applications out of the cloud to meet needs as necessary.

Like Import/Export, the new Network Storage feature creates additional flexibility in virtual environments. It enables users to manage storage needs on-demand by sharing NFS and iSCSI storage services between virtual machines in a given location. It also utilizes high-performance, cache-heavy systems to support the most demanding storage requirements.

“Creating and maintaining a strong relationship with our end users is extremely important to us and after gaining their feedback, we pinpointed both Import/Export and Network Storage as two significant features that would enhance our cloud solution” added Bell. “As we continue to develop our offering, we will continue to focus on adding functionalities that not only help improve the system overall, but provide added value to our users.”
