EarthLink Expands it’s Generation Cloud Hosting Platform; Opens New Dallas Data Center and Sales Office

Web Hosting provider EarthLink, Inc. has opened a new data center in Dallas as part of its nationwide IT services and data center network expansion. Located at 2323 Bryan Street, Dallas, the new data center is first of the four data centers EarthLink plans to add on its generation cloud hosting platform. Coming months will see opening of three data centers in Chicago, San Jose and Miami by Earthlink, in addition to it’s existing center at Pittsford, NY; taking the total number to 5.

The company has also opened a new local sales office in the Dallas metro area and is growing it’s employee base in a bid to fulfill business demand for its various IT solutions.

“Dallas is a booming business market, and an important communications hub and distribution point for IP traffic. Opening a data center here is an important step in our motion to create a regionally-diverse, expanded IT solutions footprint to support the growing and evolving needs of companies as they seek to virtualize their businesses,” said Michael D. Toplisek, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, EarthLink.

In addition to the five mentioned above, EarthLink also has data centers in Atlanta, Columbia, SC and Marlborough, MA, EarthLink ; and hence will soon operate 8 data centers in total linked to its nationwide IP network.

EarthLink plans to create fault-tolerant, enterprise class IT solutions with nationwide availability and high performing network connectivity by leveraging these 8 geographically-diverse data centers. Mexico based payroll and human resources consulting service provider Payrolling is one of the first EarthLink customers installed in the Dallas data center. “EarthLink has always provided us with first-class service, and our partnership has played a fundamental part in our growth and ability to stay a step ahead with technology,” said Marcelo Ahuerma, Payrolling IT and Implementation Manager.

“Our new solution will migrate our dedicated servers in Pittsford, NY to the vCloud solution in the new Dallas data center with a complete SAN to SAN backup between two data centers. We expect a very positive improvement in security, redundancy, and performance and look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship,” she added.
