Cologix Announces 26,000 SQF Data center Expansion in Downtown Montreal

Network neutral interconnection and colocation company Cologix today announced a 26,000 SQF expansion in downtown Montreal at 1155 University Street.

Intended to meet the demand for growth from its customers, the new site will have Phase 1 available by 2013 year-end with full access to the 70+ networks present today in the carrier hotel at 1250 Rene Levesque West.

We are delighted to be investing in this new data center which will bring further capacity and innovative infrastructure to Montreal.– Todd Coleman, COO, Cologix.

The news comes two days after OneCloud Networks selected Cologix’s Dallas INFOMART Data Center to support its communication services.

Designed to support more than 450 cabinets at full capacity, the new Tier 3 design facility brings the total Cologix Montreal footprint to over 100,000 SQF.

Cologix plans to tap the new facility to build standards for concurrent maintainability and will include robust power redundancy, modular in-row air conditioners and hot-aisle containment.

“I am proud of the investment Cologix continues to make in Canada and Quebec in particular,” said Roger Brulotte, General Manager, Cologix Montreal.

“Cologix is the largest network neutral colocation provider in Montreal and throughout Canada. Our new expansion is directly responsive to customer requests for predictable growth opportunities in downtown Montreal,” he added.
