As a result of the successful audit, Cbeyond is now one of the first cloud providers to receive such certification.
Considered the second-generation data center audit standard, SSAE 16 SOC 2 reviews evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of a center’s controls against a strict series of international standards. Earning SSAE 16 certification demonstrates that Cbeyond Cloud Services is fully compliant with all necessary security and privacy specifications, and demonstrates that its customers are served and hosted in a highly secure, controlled facility.
The audit’s completion also provides Cbeyond full insight into the people and procedures responsible for successful data center controls.

Earlier this year, SSAE 16 SOC 2 reports replaced SAS 70 Type II audits as the benchmark compliance report for organizations impacted by privacy and security regulations such as HIPAA, PCI and SOX. The new standards required Cbeyond to complete and submit a written assessment of the operating effectiveness and suitability of its controls, which was analyzed by auditors Ernst & Young for its accuracy and adherence.
