Q : What is your name and position with VexxHost?
A : My name is Mohammed Naser and I am the current Chief Executive Officer at VEXXHOST. I am involved in the day-to-day business activities of VEXXHOST as well as working with our engineering teams to improve and add to the services that we offer to our customers.
Since the launch of our OpenStack Cloud, we’ve seen a tremendous amount of spark of interest in cloud based services. We currently have offers for our cloud launch on all of our services with up to 50% discounts on hourly rates for cloud servers.

Q : Tell us in brief about VexxHost?
A : VEXXHOST was founded in 2006 in order to provide a distinguished web hosting service that’s always offering the latest technologies for its customers. Nowadays, every hosting service follows the same pattern with no distinguishing features; we aim to change that by implementing new features and adding services that users have come to love.
From the first company to add FFMPEG support until the only one that offers Rails 3 hosting with it’s regular hosting service to offering OpenStack based cloud services and even innovating over the OpenStack platform to add more services powered by the cloud platform, we always look to find a way to leverage technology to add useful features
Q : Can you tell us about your new offering – Openstack Cloud Computing?
A : We’re very excited when we launched our cloud computing service powered by OpenStack. We put a lot of time and effort into providing a great user experience with a powerful yet simple control panel that allows you to fully manage your OpenStack cloud. We were working on this platform for over a year making sure we have the best combination of software and hardware while maintaining an affordable computing service.
We’re also adding in all the other features of OpenStack shortly such as cloud storage as well as leveraging those services in order to create more value-added services like cloud-based DNS, CDN for normal usage and for our cloud storage, cloud databases, email sending service and websites. Within the next year, we aim to have a full suite of cloud-based services, all billed hourly with affordable pricing and high performance behind it.
Q : What are the distinguished features of Openstack Cloud Computing?
A : OpenStack is known to be a great fantastic open source ecosystem that encapsulates many projects and constantly adds new ones. What started with a small compute and storage service has now expanded most recently to add cloud networking (Quantum) and there are several projects that are also being worked on to be added soon such as Ceilometer (metering). The development system is amazing and the pace where it moves is fantastic.
We’ve taken steps further by building on top of this open source platform to add unique features to our cloud computing service. For example, we’ve implemented it with our backend hypervisor to provide full metrics to all servers, updated to the second. We’ve implemented an agent that runs under each operating system that automatically resets passwords, reconfigures networks with zero user interaction and full console logs. We’re always looking on new ways of enhancing customer experience on our platform.
Q : Are there any current offers at VexxHost that you want to tell us?
A : Since the launch of our OpenStack Cloud, we’ve seen a tremendous amount of spark of interest in cloud based services. We currently have offers for our cloud launch on all of our services with up to 50% discounts on hourly rates for cloud servers. So, if a customer signs up today, these rates are locked in so they will always have 50% off on all servers they create under our platform, even if the pricing changes back again.
Our cloud sites powered by our OpenStack Compute cloud has also very aggressive discounts allowing customers to get their sites on the cloud easily and manage it using cPanel, just like any other web hosting platform.
