Telligent Acquires Zimbra from VMware to Offer a Unified Social Collaboration Suite

Enterprise social software provider Telligent  today announced that it has acquired  Zimbra, a  messaging and collaboration solution. Telligent acquired Zimbra’s assets from VMware, who bought Zimbra from Yahoo in January 2010. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Zimbra enables traditional collaboration through features such as email, calendar sharing and address books, while Telligent supports real-time collaboration via chat, social networking, online communities and more. NTT Communications Corporation plans to launch  the ‘On-premises Connection’, world’s first software-defined networking (SDN)-based cloud migration service.
