Dell becomes primary IT infrastructure supplier for GE, signs multi-year agreement

Dell Technologies recently announced that tech major GE has signed a multi-year agreement to use Dell Inc. infrastructure and end-user computing solutions to support its ongoing digital transformation efforts. This agreement is apparently one of the largest non-government contracts in the history of Dell Technologies, Dell or EMC. 25% senior business leaders said that the use of IoT in their business is sparking a new wave of innovation due to the vast set of insightful data; 22% told that IoT is helping them unlock new revenue opportunities from current products and services. Microsoft’s hiked quarterly earnings confirm its booming cloud business

Microsoft disclosed its earnings report for FY17 Q4 for the month ending June 30, 2017. Surpassing analysts’ expectations, Microsoft recorded a revenue of $23.3 billion GAAP and $24.7 billion non-GAAP. This was higher than the Wall Street’s anticipation of $24.3 billion. It further reported an operating income of $7.0 billion non-GAAP. Its intelligent cloud revenue grew 11 % year-over-year to $7.4 billion. Public Cloud spending to reach $266 billion in 2021 with the US expected to be the largest market – IDC report

Public Cloud spending is forecasted to reach $266 billion in 2021 worldwide, according to a recent update to the IDC Worldwide Semiannual Public Cloud Services Spending Guide. Out of it, $163 billion will be accounted for by the United States alone. The spending will be slow between 2016-2021, and is expected to achieve a CAGR of 21.0%, per the report.
