IBM acquires Private cloud and hosting business of Verizon

Verizon, through an official statement, announced the decision to sell its private cloud services and hosting business to IBM. With the new development, it seems like Verizon’s cloud services and hosting businesses have come to an end. Verizon entered the cloud market back in 2011 when it acquired Terremark, preparing a strong foundation for its private cloud business. Cloud market is witnessing a fierce competition between major players like Amazon, Google and Microsoft who have already reserved a place for themselves. Rackspace Hosting , the open cloud company, today announced the acquisition of  Exceptional Cloud Services and its suite of developer solutions, including error tracking and Redis-as-a-Service capabilities. Rackspace Hosting Opens New Office In San Francisco

DAILYHOSTNEWS, December 5, 2011 – Web host Rackspace Hosting recently unveiled a new office located in San Francisco, California. The web hosting provider made the announcement via its official Rackspace Cloud Blog. The new space provides room for Rackspace’s previous acquisitions of Anso Labs and CloudKick. The web hosting provider acquired Anso Labs earlier this year, a company known for its work with OpenStack and cloud technology for NASA.
