Hosting.com Launches Cloud Replication Solution

DAILYHOSTNEWS, December 19, 2011 – Hosting.com, a leading provider of enterprise-class cloud-based application availability and recovery solutions, has announced the general availability of the market’s first fully-managed Cloud Replication solution. This solution enables customers who are seeking a solution for disaster recovery, while providing cost-effective business continuity and application recovery. The Cloud Replication solution leverages VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5 (SRM 5) to deliver enterprise-class offsite data protection and disaster recovery.

The Cloud Replication solution protects organizations from data loss resulting from clinical disasters, such as a server failure or human error, and catastrophic disasters that can bring a company to a complete standstill. Hosting.com enables automated virtual machine replication of a customer’s virtualized data environment either from their premise or from a Hosting.com data center to a Hosting.com data center recovery site. Customers can easily customize and control their replication and recovery settings in the Hosting.com Customer Portal.

“Our Cloud Replication solution powered by SRM 5 makes offsite disaster recovery possible for businesses of all sizes and in particular, to organizations that have been deterred by the traditional high cost and complexity of disaster recovery. Cloud Replication connects a customer’s existing infrastructure to one of our data centers to provide affordable offsite protection while reducing their infrastructure investment,” commented Art Zeile, CEO of Hosting.com.

In conjunction with VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5, Cloud Replication delivers unprecedented control and flexibility to IT managers responsible for critical systems recovery. Companies can perform simulated test recoveries that are non-disruptive and non-load bearing to their production environment — guaranteeing system availability during a disaster. The management of a failover and failback using the Hosting.com Customer Portal is a simple and automated method for managing disaster management.
