Equinix continues its acquisition spree, expands footprint in Iberia to interconnect Europe, Latin America and Africa

Global interconnection and data center company – Equinix Inc. recently announced entering into an agreement with The Carlyle Group, for acquiring leading data center, cloud infrastructure and connectivity provider in Spain and Portugal – Itconic, and its subsidiary CloudMas which supports enterprise adoption and consumption of cloud services. The acquisition will close by Q4 2017, subject to various regulatory and customary approvals. The acquisition of Itconic will strengthen Equinix’s position in Europe. The company will acquire five datacenters in four metros – two in Madrid, one in Seville, one in Lisbon and one in Barcelona, post-acquisition.
