Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider CloudSigma today launched its new hybrid hosting offering.
CloudSigma will be offering colocated space at all of it’s locations (Switch SuperNAP in Las Vegas, Nevada; Interxion in Zurich, Switzerland; and Equinix globally) and private patching to its public cloud to provide its customers with both the security and elasticity required for sensitive data and demanding workloads.

Many companies are unsatisfied with the level of customization, security and privacy that public cloud offers, and they lack the financial clout needed to develop their own private cloud.
The complex regulatory and compliance landscape, coupled with the need for support for more diverse workloads drives more and more businesses to look at hybrid cloud hosting.
In an interview with Daily Host News earlier this week, Bernino Lind, COO, CloudSigma, said “A lot of our customers were asking that they wanted to run various compute jobs on very sensitive data that needed to get in and out of our cloud very fast, and they were not willing to use the public internet to do so”
“Therefore we invented the private patch ability to mitigate these problems; both the security concern of not having their data traverse a public IP line, and the performance concern of having a dedicated line so that there is no latency and bottleneck in the network to get the data in and out of the public cloud.
ClouSigma provides colocated hybrid hosting customers with a 1GigE or 10GigE private patch directly into their private network within CloudSigma’s cloud.
The private patching allows customers to connect their own infrastructure directly to the vLANS within CloudSigma’s public cloud, all exposed via the same subnet. This significantly improves data portability and security.
It also avoids the need for inefficient VPNs and allows for a totally private IP-only solution at full line speed and with low latency.
Customers have the option to utilize CloudSigma’s redundant routing, external IP connectivity and DDOS protection systems for their own private infrastructure, paying the standard per GB rate for outgoing data transfer only.
CloudSigma is currently offering a rebate on cloud spending of up to 20 percent against customer private hosting costs.
“We believe that public cloud technology is the future of computing,” said Robert Jenkins, CEO, CloudSigma.
“But, we also understand that, for some requirements, customers prefer their own hardware. With this new offering, we aim to deliver the benefits of public cloud while actually reducing the cost for private hosting through our seamless hybrid hosting and rebate system, ” he added.
